Mary Elizabeth Truss, well known as Liz Truss, is a British politician,
leader of the Conservative Party, who has served as Prime Minister of the
United Kingdom since 6 September 2022. She is the third female Prime Minister
of England – Margaret Thatcher and Theresa May. Boris Johnson preceded her and
she has a female Deputy Prime Minister – Therese Coffey. She is also the leader
of the Conservative Party.
Her expertise lies in Childcare and Education, as Parliamentary Under
Secretary of State, Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in the 2014 cabinet
reshuffle and International Trade, as the President of The Board of Trade in
the Boris Johnsons’ mandate. In July 2016, she became the first female Lord
Chancellor, appointed by Prime Minister Theresa May. She took on the additional
Minister for Women and Equalities role in September 2019.
As Environment Secretary, Truss promoted animal welfare, especially the bee
population, which is very important for the planet’s ecological balance.
She has been married since 2000 and has two daughters. Even if she had an
adultery affair with a married man and was publicly cited in the divorce of her
lover, the couple resisted this challenge and public opinion forgot the
incident.
„As your Prime Minister, I am confident that together we can ride out the
storm, rebuild our economy and become the modern, brilliant Britain that I know
we can be. I will take action every day to make that happen”, says Liz Truss,
at the investiture ceremony. Her promise for the UK citizens is very bold and
daring: „to end the short-term thinking on energy once and for all and to act
now so people and businesses are supported with a new Energy Price Guarantee,
tackling the root cause of the issue by boosting domestic energy supply to
ensure we’re not in this position ever again. She unveiled a multibillion-pound
package to combat the rising energy costs and she won the elections with the
targeted message of finding solutions to the cost of living crisis.
„Liz for Leader trusted to deliver” and „In Liz we Truss”, are the slogans
created in the campaign.
